Description:

Merchandise Assistant fulfills duties as assigned by the Merchandise Manager at the SUU Bookstore.

Duties include:

  1. Fills and straightens product in all the general merchandise departments, excluding apparel.
  2. Assists in inventory management and physical inventory of the bookstore.
  3. Ensures proper stock rotation in responsible departments, particularly in the convenience store.
  4. Oversees the greeting card section for the bookstore.
  5. Cleans and maintains various machines in the convenience store.
  6. Cleans assigned areas within the department.

Qualifications:

  1. Able to lift up to 100 lbs and be comfortable working on a ladder in the backroom stock requirements.
  2. General knowledge of retail merchandise management preferred.
  3. Ability to work year around, including summers.
  4. The ability to demonstrate initiative for general responsibilities given.
  5. Values paying attention to detail in job completion.
  6. Preference given to 2+ years left in school because of training requirements.
